The Russian factory
Raketa
from Saint Petersburg
presents all of its collections exclusively in Paris at Fréret-Roy!
And don't do politics!
In 1961, the “Raketa” (“rocket” in Russian) brand was launched in honor of cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin's first manned flight into space.
Raketa watches are manufactured in the Petrodvorets factory in Peterhof, a stone's throw from the summer palace of Tsar Peter the Great.
The historic factory has been completely renovated in recent years, and the Raketa watch collections are available in France at Fréret-Roy since 2017.
The factory is one of the few in the world to produce its own mechanisms from A to Z. The plans for the “Raketa-Avtomat” 2624 automatic caliber lay dormant in the old Petrodvorets factory... The new and improved caliber was launched in 2014 and is manufactured entirely in the Petrodvorets factory, along with the escapement and spring, making the Raketa brand a true watch manufacturer.
You'll find the entire Raketa collection at Fréret Roy, including the latest limited series and Boutique-exclusive models unavailable elsewhere.

Collections Overview
The Raketa “Avtomat” calibers:
Raketa watches are created around Russian mechanical movements
produced in our Peterhof factory!
The components of Raketa movements are not produced by numerically controlled machines (CNC). They are produced by hand using traditional “Russian” methods by men and women who transmit a little of their soul into each component that 'they produce. You can visit the Raketa Watch Factory and see with your own eyes how they work.
Some figures to give you an idea of how the Raketa Classic “Big Zero” is made:
8,201 operations are required to fully produce this watch.
103 specialists are needed to produce all the components of this watch
242 components are on your wrist (including movement components) when you wear this watch on your wrist.
The caliber Avtomat 2615equips all Raketa watches with 12-hour display, in different finishes depending on the model:
Big Zero, Copernicus, Amphibia, Avant-Garde.
This caliber also exists in a version Avtomat 2615R
modified, which runs backwards and equips the models "Russian Code"

"Raketa Big Zero"
New cushion-shaped case 40 mm in diameter and 14.05 mm thick, round bezel, sapphire crystal, crown with an underlying ruby, transparent case back.
Presented with a white dial with multi-layer lacquered black numerals in 2022, the new Big Zero with a black dial has just been launched at the end of 2023!
The numbers and indexes are this time again in multi-layer lacquer, but very luminescent!
The original design of this watch dates back to the 1970s, and has become the icon of the Raketa style. During an official visit of Mikhail Gorbachev to Italy, journalists asked him what Perestroika meant for the USSR. Gorbachev replied that Russians had started their lives from scratch and, putting his words into action, he showed the number “0” displayed instead of “12” on his “Raketa” watch. Since then, the time reading on “Raketa” watches always starts at zero and not at 12. This is the trademark of Raketa and in particular the signature of the classic “Big Zero”.
The new case was designed to highlight the white dial with large multi-layer lacquered numerals that made the original model so successful. With this very compact design, we find the roundness of its predecessor. The architecture of the new case, which is now structured around a “cushion shape”, offers ample surfaces where the brushed surfaces contrast with the polished surfaces.
Finally, a final little detail, a ruby shines behind the logo of the Raketa factory which is cut out of the crown, which recalls the lapidary origins of the factory founded in Peterhof, a stone's throw from the palace of Peter the Great, 300 years ago.

The Middle Eastern Classic
Raketa has reimagined its most iconic model especially for the Middle East, with an Arabic dial and under the name Big Zero Arabic.
The traditional and symbolic “0” of the Raketa watch manufacturer still remains on the dial, while the other numerals are in oriental Arabic, the font being inspired by the original Soviet-style model.
The black and white range of the new dial is completed by a Raketa logo in Arabic characters, created by Mohammad Sharaf, renowned calligrapher, in the brand's iconic red color.
The transparent case back reveals a carefully decorated Raketa automatic movement, entirely manufactured at the Raketa Watch Factory in St. Petersburg.
A limited production of only 100 pieces was carried out this year.
Raketa
Big Zero "0296"
The dial is deep black, the numbers and indexes are in multi-layer lacquer, very luminescent!
Classic, without being classic, Raketa's most emblematic model – the Big Zero – returns with its new colors: white numbers on a black dial!
The very strong Superluminova coating on the hands and oversized numerals highlights the original and bold aesthetic of this minimalist design, while ensuring perfect readability at night.
The Big Zero is one of the few Soviet-era watch designs to have crossed borders and time.
By usual standards, this design is not classic. However, it has become a Raketa classic due to its unique and timeless quality!
The case back allows you to admire an automatic Raketa movement, entirely created by the Raketa watch manufacturer in Saint Petersburg.

Square, Circle, Cross
Time taking shape
The Raketa Malevich Triptych watch is the result of a collaboration between the manufacturer and the Russian Museum (in Saint Petersburg) which houses Malevich's entire geometric series including the Black Circle, the Black Cross and the famous Black Square.
Black and white minimalism, rejection of generally accepted rules, renunciation of conventions and return to the simplest forms are just some of the common features between Malevich's concept and Raketa's philosophy. Moreover, the simple geometric shapes of the square, circle and cross, which Malevich considered traditional symbols of the universe, refer to Raketa's DNA, which is itself directly linked to the cosmos and its representation in art.
The dial is made with natural semi-precious stones selected for their visual resemblance to the paintings. Laconic in its colors and shapes, the watch models allow for unlimited interpretations, just like Malevich's works.
Each watch in the Raketa Malevich Triptych limited series was produced in an edition of 500. The collector's set including the 3 watches makes it possible to collect the entire triptych.
The mechanisms of each watch are manufactured from A to Z by the Raketa watch factory in St. Petersburg and carefully decorated by the factory's craftsmen. The Black Square, the Black Circle and the Black Cross of Malevich are printed on the black coating of the oscillating weight.

"Malevich Square"
Time taking shape
The Raketa Malevich Square watch is the result of a collaboration between the manufacturer and the Russian Museum (in Saint Petersburg) which houses Malevich's entire geometric series including the Black Square.
The apparent simplicity of The Black Square carries a fundamental meaning for Malevich. In order to destroy "the conventional art of the past," he first had to reduce everything to the "zero of forms," the central core around which he could build his new art. He explains that the painting represents a "Big Zero," symbolizing both an end and a beginning, and that its creation marks the starting point of a new universal artistic system that will be the foundation of contemporary abstract art.
The simple geometric shape of the square, complementing the circle and the cross that Malevich considered traditional symbols of the universe, refers to Raketa's DNA, directly linked to the cosmos and its representation in art.
The dial is made with natural semi-precious stones selected for their visual resemblance to the painting. Laconic in its colors and shapes, the model of this watch allows for unlimited interpretations, like the works of Malevich.
The mechanisms of each watch are manufactured from A to Z by the Raketa watch factory in St. Petersburg and carefully decorated by the factory's craftsmen. The Black Square, the Black Circle and the Black Cross of Malevich are printed on the black coating of the oscillating weight.
The Raketa Malevich Square limited series is limited to 500 pieces.
Raketa
"Malevich Circle"
Time taking shape
The Raketa Malevich Circle watch is the result of a collaboration between the manufacturer and the Russian Museum (in Saint Petersburg) which houses Malevich's entire geometric series including the Black Circle.
The circle is a fundamental element of the Suprematist concept invented by Malevich: just like the Black Square, it is the most economical form possible, but unlike the Black Square, it includes an active element. Indeed, instead of placing the circle in the center, Malevich moves it to the top right, which makes the form dynamic and makes the meaning of the painting ambiguous – therefore abstract.

Raketa
"Malevich Cross"
Time taking shape
The Raketa Malevich Cross watch is the result of a collaboration between the manufacturer and the Russian Museum (in Saint Petersburg) which houses Malevich's entire geometric series including the Black Cross.
According to Malevich's concept, the cross is the most complex form of the cycle. Thanks to the vertical and horizontal lines, it connects the active and passive elements, embodying the unity of spiritual and earthly principles. Moreover, the simple geometric shape of the cross, complementing the square, and the circle that Malevich considered traditional symbols of the universe, refers to Raketa's DNA, directly connected with the cosmos and its representation in art.
The dial is made with natural semi-precious stones selected for their visual resemblance to the painting. Laconic in its colors and shapes, the model of this watch allows for unlimited interpretations, like the works of Malevich.

Art in motion
Based on the original model with its famous red triangular hand, the new version of the Raketa “Avant-Garde” watch moves upmarket.
This model now has a multi-layer dial, a more sophisticated case and more striking hands which, thanks to Super-LumiNova, indicate the time even in the dark.
But one of the main design choices was to replace the usual numbers with letters: zero, three, six, nine. The three main colours of avant-garde art – red, white and black – combined with strict geometry of hands and fonts help to emphasize the beauty and uniqueness of each moment. Even a brief glance at your wrist will remind you of this, revealing a new work of art on the watch dial each time.
Inspired by the idea that the Raketa “Avant-Garde” model is art in motion, you can tirelessly reinterpret in your own way the composition that is constantly renewed on the dial, and give it new meanings.
The movement of the abstract geometric shapes on the dial is provided by a Raketa automatic movement designed and manufactured at the Raketa watch factory in St. Petersburg. The transparent case back allows you to appreciate the elegance of the movement and its harmonious operation.

Russian Code "0302"
Avtomat 2615 R Caliber
Change direction with this watch which turns in the opposite direction clockwise!
Live in rhythm with the Universe!
The "Russian Code", the watch that turns backwards or in reverse, is today one of the most emblematic models of the Raketa manufacture. Having entered into legend, the Russian Code is now fully integrated into the brand's collections.
The Russian Code 0302 introduces a completely new case: a combination of sharp facets and rounded curves is highlighted by a mix of satin finishes and polished edges, while the sapphire crystal has a more complex domed shape. As on the Big Zero, an underlying synthetic ruby signs the Raketa manufacture logo engraved in the center of the crown.
The center of the dial displays the constellations above St. Petersburg on the morning of April 12, 1961, when Yuri Gagarin made history by becoming the first man to fly into space. The textured polished hour markers with two types of coatings (light rhodium on the even numbers and dark on the odd numbers) give an additional three-dimensional look to the already multi-layered dial.
Behind this elegant design lies the revolutionary concept that time should flow in harmony with the natural movement of the planets in our solar system, in a counterclockwise direction. So, just as the planets revolve around the sun, the hands of the Raketa "Russian Code" rotate on the dial in a classic counterclockwise direction.
Are you ready to upgrade to the next generation of watches that beat to the rhythm of the Universe.
A watch that invites you to be different!
To adopt and wear this watch, you have to free yourself from the most fundamental rule of reading time: the movement of time in a clockwise direction, which we have been taught since the watch was invented.
Indeed, early humans used sundials to tell time by observing the clockwise movement of the sun across the sky (left to right) and the corresponding shadow on the dial (right to left). When our ancestors finally invented the concept of hands (instead of shadows) moving across a dial, they naturally decided to retain this clockwise movement that they observed in nature.
But this decision is marred by a serious error: the Sun does not move clockwise in the sky. It is an illusion, it does not move at all. It is the Earth that moves counterclockwise around the Sun! More precisely, the Sun follows a clockwise movement in the sky when seen from the northern hemisphere of the Earth; in the southern hemisphere, it goes in the opposite direction. The reason why the first watchmakers decided to reproduce on the dials the clockwise movement as it is observed in the northern hemisphere is simply because the first watchmakers all lived in the northern hemisphere!
True to Raketa's DNA!
The Russian Code watch highlights Raketa’s connection to the Cosmos: the Raketa brand (which means “Space Rocket” in Russian) was created in 1961 in honor of Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin’s first manned space flight. Since then, Raketa’s designers and engineers have been inspired by space and have regularly produced watches for cosmonauts and watches celebrating the solar system.
A watch with a very special movement!
The counterclockwise movement of the hands is provided by a very special Raketa automatic movement (2615R). The engineers at the Raketa watch manufacturer reversed the movement of the hands by modifying the construction of the two most important parts of the mechanical movement: the mainspring barrel and the lever module! This technical feat could only be achieved because Raketa produces 100% of these parts in-house.

Copernicus 0307
A poetic interpretation of the Cosmos
The Raketa Copernicus, with its dial and hands representing the planets revolving around the Sun, pays homage to the great scientist Copernicus, while offering a poetic interpretation of the Cosmos. Its dial is made of aventurine, a stone that resembles the starry sky, with an agate stone disc in its center representing the sun.
This model evokes the origins of reading time by looking at celestial bodies, as our ancestors did. To know the time, one must observe the movement of the planet-shaped hands and determine their position relative to each other and also to the Sun, while admiring the incredible space dance against a backdrop of myriads of twinkling stars.
The transparent case back reveals a carefully decorated Raketa automatic movement, entirely manufactured at the Raketa Watch Factory in St. Petersburg.

An original line of unusual watches!
A 40.5mm two-piece case, with integrated bezel and highly domed sapphire crystal !
Inspired by a Soviet model,
This automatic watch pays homage
to the science of the universe, to the cosmos.
The first Raketa “Copernicus” watch was launched in the early 1980s, and it is no coincidence that it bears the name of the famous astronomer.
Its design is inspired by the Copernican conception of the Universe, which caused a real revolution in consciousness in the 16th century:
At the center of the system is the Sun, while the Earth and the Moon revolve around it (and not the other way around, as previously believed).
The large circle (the minute hand) symbolizes the Earth orbiting the sun in 1 year, while the small circle (the hour hand) symbolizes Jupiter orbiting the sun 12 times slower: in fact, the hour hand turns 12 times slower than the minute hand!
The caliber that equips the Copernicus watches is the classic Avtomat 2615, visible through the opening window on the back of the steel case.

Discover the world of submariners!
A new reference for the
Russian submariners
Raketa is reintroducing one of its most legendary watch models into its tool watch collection: the Raketa "Sonar" for Russian submariners.
The Raketa watch factory is located in St. Petersburg, on the Baltic Sea, and has always had a strong tradition of manufacturing watches for Soviet sailors and submariners. Living underwater for long months, the crews of Soviet submarines needed a robust watch with a 24-hour movement that would allow them to distinguish day from night. The Raketa "Sonar" watch model continues Raketa's tradition of manufacturing specialized 24-hour watches for submariners.
The Raketa "Sonar" model is a submariner's watch in terms of design and functionality:
Its hands are inspired by the design of the hands on the control panels of Russian submarines;
Its hands are powered by a Raketa 24-hour automatic movement (Raketa caliber 2624А) which allows submariners to distinguish day from night during their long underwater missions;
The dial and hands are luminescent to allow submariners to read the time in the dark;
6 lines (red and blue) divide the perimeter of the dial into 6 quarters (4 hours each) allowing each member of the crew to count their quarters in the submarine;
The automatic movement features a bidirectional rotor that doubles the watch's winding efficiency (which is particularly useful in the cramped conditions of the submarine).

A watch made from the Akula-class submarine "Kashalot"
In addition to the Raketa "Sonar" model from the main collection, Raketa is launching a limited edition of 500 pieces - Raketa "Sonar Kashalot". The bezel of this submariner's watch is made from the titanium of the nuclear-powered submarine K-322 "Kashalot" built in the Soviet Union in 1986. The metal was obtained during the deconstruction of the submarine at the Amur Shipbuilding Plant and was officially handed over to the Raketa Watch Factory.
The Raketa "Sonar Kashalot" model is available only as part of a Collector's set. It includes: a certificate of origin of the metal used for the titanium bezel, an additional leather strap and a 1:450 scale model of the K-322 "Kashalot" submarine in a metal suitcase.
Compared to the Sonar's bezel, the one on the "Kashalot" edition is made of engraved titanium,
from the submarine of the same name.

New case, new style,
New fully luminescent dial!
Designed for polar expeditions!
Raketa continues its long tradition of making watches for polar explorers with a model for those ready to conquer the polar spaces whether by land or sea.
The 24-hour dial is essential for distinguishing day from night during the long polar days and nights. During polar maritime expeditions, sailors can use the six lines that divide the perimeter of the dial into 6 sectors (each 4 hours long) to keep track of their sea watches. The entire surface of the dial and hands is coated with Superluminova to ensure perfect readability during the total darkness of the long polar nights.
The names of all the seas of the Arctic Ocean are engraved and enameled on the rotating bezel according to their respective time zones, thus allowing the use of the GMT function. The rotating bezel can also serve as a solar compass in the northern and southern hemispheres.
The transparent case back reveals the carefully decorated 24-hour automatic movement, entirely manufactured at the Raketa Watch Factory in St. Petersburg. The rotor finish is reminiscent of the Northern Lights.
Each Raketa Polaire watch comes with a certificate certifying that the watch can be used in extreme Arctic conditions. The certificate is issued by an official Russian laboratory within the framework of the “Voluntary Arctic Certification System”.

Blue dial and finely sunburst Avtomat 2624 24 Hour Caliber are both inspired by the Northern Lights.
The Raketa “Polar” is inspired by the brand’s legendary model, specially produced in 1970 for Soviet explorers on a mission in the Antarctic, who faced extreme living conditions. The dial divided into 24 hours allows you to know the exact time even beyond the polar circle, where it is impossible to distinguish day from night. The current model is even more efficient. The 44 mm steel case, water-resistant to 20 atm, has a screw-down crown and an ultra-resistant sapphire crystal that protects the dial. Thanks to the luminescent coating of the hands and numerals, you can read the time even in polar darkness.

Raketa Seaman 0218
Edition
limited
A limited series of automatic Russian watches dedicated to lovers of the sea. The dial of this "Seaman" watch features the maritime cardinal marks used to demarcate dangerous areas, as well as the names of watches with the corresponding time intervals, during which Russian sailors are on watch. The word "RAKETA" and the numbers "0" to "9" are written using the flags of the "maritime alphabet" which is used in the navy to transmit messages between ships. The 24-hour dial allows the watch to be used as a sun compass (by aligning the hour hand towards the sun) which is useful in case the ship's electronic compass no longer works. The 44mm watch case is water-resistant to 200 meters, which makes it perfectly suitable for use by "sailors". The caliber is decorated with painted marine motifs.
