The concept of "subscription"
or pre-order
At the time of their initial presentation or when the first run is sold out,
Our models are offered by subscription or pre-order, at a very preferential price.
You order your watch at its launch price and wait for it to be produced. The production time, which is specified when ordering, is generally between 6 and 12 months. Don't hesitate to take advantage of these "friends' prices" by ordering your watch through subscription!
Once the watch is in stock, the subscription price is no longer applicable. On most models, the 20% price difference roughly corresponds to the VAT paid to the government.
However, we would like to draw your attention to the fact that the prices offered on our website and in our store are direct prices.
The day the brand is distributed in other stores and other countries, prices will inevitably increase.

Since Fréret-Roy 1818 watches are equipped with components such as movements, dials, and hands produced in Switzerland, we draw your attention to the fact that the significant rise in the value of the Swiss franc against the Euro has resulted in a continuous increase in the prices of our components in recent years, as the Euro has continued to fall against the Swiss franc.
The Swiss franc has risen sharply since 2022. After crossing the historic and critical threshold of €1 = CHF 1, the exchange rate fell to €0.95 against the CHF in October 2023, then to €0.92/CHF in January 2024! That's a rise of over 10% for the CHF in just two years. After a slight recovery, the euro has collapsed again, currently trading around €0.90/€0.92 against the CHF, excluding exchange and customs fees!
This change in the exchange rate has a significant negative impact on the prices of our Fréret-Roy 1818 watches, which explains the recent price increases of our models.
As a reminder, the EUR/CHF exchange rate was around 1.50 at the beginning of the 2000s!

Our exclusive 120H case, crafted from hand-satin-finished steel, was designed specifically for this model. At less than 12.60 mm thick, the watch is remarkably slim considering its complications and impressive power reserve. The flat sapphire crystal features an anti-reflective coating, and the transparent case back allows you to admire the meticulously decorated movement on both the front and back.
The caliber manufactured by MHVJ, Manufacture Horlogère de la Vallée de Joux, which equips this 120Heures model, is no longer currently produced due to its very high production cost.

Why "Grand"? Because the movement is totally visible, like in the previous "Phantom"!
After the "Grand Coeur Ouvert® Fantôme", the "Grand Coeur Ouvert® Noir" this time features a brushed "gunmetal" coloured highlight which contrasts with the rhodium-plated silver-capped decoration of the caliber.
This is the "ultimate" series of our last five available movements of this exceptional caliber which is no longer manufactured in small series for independent watchmakers like us, its production cost being too high.
The seamless transition of the "Phantom" version, where movement and flange merged, is replaced by the powerful contrast between the silver rhodium-plated decoration of the movement and the intense black of the dial, whose retrograde date and power reserve arches stand out harmoniously above the plate, highlighting the magnificent crimping of the decorated plate of the MHVJ caliber for Fréret-Roy 1818.
This watch has the unique feature of symmetrical asymmetry!
The Coeur Ouvert® (a registered trademark belonging to us since 1999!) is perfectly centered at 9 o'clock. While the arches of the two complications – the retrograde date and the power reserve – are placed in vertical symmetry on the right side of the movement and dial, creating a kind of symmetry within asymmetry, the triangle unfolding from left to right.
The finely decorated, in-house 120-hour caliber is fully revealed, allowing you to admire both its front and back. In this version, the hours are marked by hand-filled capsules of Super-LumiNova, as is the brand logo at 12 o'clock, its color matching the hands. The white lettering now stands out against the brushed gunmetal finish and is highly legible, as are the secondary hands for the power reserve and retrograde date.
