It is with great sadness and emotion that I announce the passing of my friend Daniel Nebel, a watchmaker of genius, whose memory I wish to salute here. Genius creator of the Nord Zeitmaschine watches that most of those who frequent the Fréret Roy boutique know, Daniel, who had just turned 49, has just left us on September 20, 2020, following a serious illness that took him away in a few months after a merciless struggle.
All my watchmaker friends who knew him appreciated his simplicity, talent, kindness, creativity and helpfulness. This is a very great loss.
Daniel Nebel was one of the first participants in our annual exhibition "Le OFF des Indépendants" since the launch of the exhibition in 2016. Daniel was present at the June 2019 event "Le OFF de Bâle 2019, épisode 2" where he spoke passionately about his extraordinary creations and his watcheshave been of course exhibited for the last time during our latest exhibition "le OFF 5" in autumn-winter 2020.
The last four watches we had in stock were sold in winter 2020. No more watches are available. They now live on with their new owners, who are aware that they own extraordinary timepieces created by an exceptional watch engineer.
Nord Zeitmaschine watches are therefore no longer available, all having been sold.
With Daniel Nebel or in Nord Zeitmaschine watches, everything is different: the reading of the hour is written on a sliding or rotating disc, spinning for the latest "Crossnroll", the reading of the minutes is different from everything else that exists and also different for each model, all produced in limited series of 99 pieces and customizable on request.
All Nord Zeitmaschine watches are equipped with an exclusive case forged by Daniel Nebel, as is the buckle of the bracelet. The automatic base calibers with a "top" finish come from the ETA Manufacture, and all the complications of the various Quickindicator, Variocurve, Freesdial and Crosnroll models are manufactured in-house from A to Z by Daniel Nebel.

The "big" minute hand moves around a mobile wheel and indicates the minutes which are written on two mobile "cerebellas", the hours are on a rotating counter at 4 o'clock, the second time zone on a rotating counter at 8 o'clock...

The time is symbolized by the red arrow on the disc that constantly turns around the dial, a kind of "pendulum" and always points to the exact time.
